If you were hurt in a crash in Kingston

  1. Call 911 and get a police report. The report is the foundation of an injury claim.
  2. Get medical care the same day. Some injuries don’t hurt right away, and a same-day record ties them to the crash.
  3. Photograph the scene and get witnesses’ names. Stores along Route 9W and Ulster Avenue often have cameras, but the footage is usually overwritten within days. See how to get video evidence.
  4. File your no-fault application within 30 days. No-fault pays medical bills and lost wages no matter who caused the crash.
  5. Talk to a lawyer before you give the other driver’s insurer a recorded statement.
